Welcome to the Hudson Valley Hate Free Zone!

#LoveAndProtectEachOther

WHAT IS A HATE FREE ZONE?

In this period of uncertainty and attacks on many of our communities (immigrants, Black folks, Muslims, Jews, LGBTQ, women, Latinos, workers, youth, and many others), it is more critical than ever that we work together to love and protect each other.

The Hate Free Zone is a network of people who are willing to stand with communities that are under attack. This network will help connect and support the many efforts underway in the Hudson Valley right now.

A Hate Free Zone is not just a declaration but the practice of building a community defense system that will allow us to defend our communities from workplace raids, deportations, mass criminalization, violence, and systemic violation of our rights and dignity. It has been modeled after the work of DRUM in NYC.

WHO LAUNCHED THE HATE FREE ZONE?

A collaboration of leaders and organizers from two base-building community organizations who have been fighting for racial, economic, gender, and migrant justice with directly impacted people:
